Rabbi Seth Goldstein
Rabbi Goldstein has served at the rabbi of Temple Beth Hatfiloh since 2003, upon ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. He also holds an MA in Jewish studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He was selected to be a member of the Rabbis Without Borders program through CLAL: The Center for Jewish Life and Learning, and was named as one of “10 under 40” by the JTNews. His also currently a board member of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association. Rabbi Seth is passionate about building community connections and relationships, creating meaningful Jewish experiences, facilitating Jewish exploration and learning, and bringing the Jewish voice to bear on issues facing our communities. Originally from New York, Rabbi Seth is happily at home in the Northwest with his wife Rabbi Yohanna Kinberg and sons Ozi and Erez. When not around the synagogue, he enjoys tending to his chickens.
Catherine comes to TBH with a public school teaching background. She taught in Hawaii, Texas and for the Department of Defense in Germany before teaching in Washington. She is a middle school generalist who did her graduate level specialization in literacy instruction. Catherine’s interest in interfaith cooperation, social justice and tikkun olam have led her to become a board member for Interfaith Works, where she coordinates the summer camp, Interfaith Explorations, as well as spearheads TBH’s annual participation in CROP Walk. She is also on the board of RENA, Reconstructionist Educators of North America, where she coordinates conference calls to bring together Education Directors like herself, for professional development and support. Catherine is married to Rob, a retired Army Sergeant Major. Together they share a love for their four daughters, along with hiking, watching football and a good cup of coffee. In her incredibly rare spare time Catherine also enjoys painting, gardening and reading.
Caroline Metzger, Community Engagement Coordinator
Caroline has a background in small business management, marketing, and website development. She appreciates working with organizations and individuals who generate a positive impact in their community. Caroline enjoys being of service and is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment that strengthens and supports our community. Caroline is an entrepreneur and believes that food and creativity can help repair the world.
